Regarding your first question, not that I'm using Samba on OmniOSce
myself, but did you give 'pkgsrc'
(https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/install-on-illumos/) a try?
If I hit it with this command ...:
pkgin search samba
... it comes up with two mathing "SMB/CIFS protocol server suite"-packages:
samba-*4.6.8nb9*
samba-3.6.25nb13
Your second question, I have no clue.
