Actually, not painful at all.  Lycra peels down very easily, and peels up
the leg just as easily.  When I was team riding about a hundred years ago,
we perfected the practice of wizzing without ever stopping and getting off
the bike. But you can't have any sense of modesty.  I knew one guy who
carried a wide flexible tube that he'd moved up the leg of his shorts and
whiz out that.  But that was kind of extreme.
