Yeah, there something going round not too long ago. Some trojan or something that cracked Yahoo accounts. Could it be that your password is one that can be found in a dictionary? Set a new password, choose one that doesn't form a name or a word and you're safe.
Is there a good way to remember passwords? Yes, there is: Make up a phrase that contains a number and take from each word the first letter, from the number just the digit. If your language uses uppercase and lowercase characters such as German does, then keep the case, that makes the password even harder to guess. Example: I have zero viruses on my computer! Password: Ih0vomc! After having changed your Yahoo password, the problem should have gone away.
