In '87, I left the west for the east, and moved to Northern VA, just outside of DC. I had a friend living there and stayed with her till I got settled. I worked for the State Dept for a bunch of years as a contractor, then semi-retired (at a young age) two years ago. Then about four months ago, my partner/spouse landed a really good job with magnificent career potential in North Carolina so now we're living in the Sand Hills area, about dead center of the state, but a little south. It's been a good move over all.
