On another group I belong to, a picture was posted by of a group of swimmers where one was holding a handmade sign with his time and "AR" on it. The group was discussing what AR stood for. One person thought it meant American Record which sounded dubious to me. I did some internet searching and didn't find anything conclusive, but I thought it might mean Athlete's Record, like a personal best. Does anyone know what AR really stands for? Thanks!
