It has been announced today that Tottenham will, for the present, keep
Nacer Chadli on their roster, at least until another trade works out. Nacer
Chadli is a winger of Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham had attempted to work a trade with PSV Eindhoven, for their
winger Memphis Depay.  Chadli refused to be part of the deal, however,
and so will remain with Tottenham, unless traded before the deadline.
Depay will be brought on in a straight cash deal.

Nacer Chadli was born on 2 August 1989 in Liège, Belgium.  He is a dual citizen
of Belgium and Morocco.

Nacer's career took off in local Standard Liège, where he played till he turned
16. Later the footballer moved to Dutch side MVV and made encouraging display
for the new team, which drew the attention of AGOVV Apeldoorn.

On 7 September 2007, the player made his professional début in the home 2-6
loss to RKC Waalwijk. Half a year later, on 4 April 2008, the Belgian fired his
first goal in the game versus Volendam.

At the beginning of 2010, top-flight Dutch and Belgian clubs like ADO Den
Haag, Utrecht, Twente, Ajax and Anderlecht took an interest in the winger.

In the summer 2010, Chadli made his choice and penned a contract with
Twente till the summer 2014. Nacer continues to perform for the club up till
now and wears number 22 shirt.

The footballer's
début for the team came on 6 August 2010 in the away goalless draw with Roda.
Several months later, on 30 October the same year, the player
scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over PSV. From 2010 till 2013, Chadli
made 84 appearances and amassed 25 goals.

In July 2013 the Belgian signed a new contract with the English
Tottenham Hotspur, in an 7 million euro agreement worked out with
Twente.
