Greg Plitt has reportedly died Saturday in Burbank, California.

Greg Plitt was an extremely well known  American fitness model and actor, who
in unique ways brought his work into the mainstream.

Greg was born on November 3, 1977 and grew up in Lutherville Maryland.  His
mother was an interior designer and his father was a real estate agent.
Throughout his life, he maintained great affection for the places he grew up.
Although he was a Class of 2000 graduate of the United States Military Academy
at West Point, New York, he also visited the United States Naval Academy at
Annapolis, from which his older sister graduated.   In recent years, he was
greatly excited by the successes of the Baltimore Ravens, and attended those
Football Games when he could.  He was both Airborne and Ranger qualified, and
served as a Ranger for five years.  He also conducted fitness training for
military and future military.

Greg Plitt always brought great enthusiasm to his work, and his characteristic
smile and energy projected beyond his friends and contacts to be felt also in
his modeling and television work.  He modeled for Under Armour, Old Navy,
Calvin Klein and other companies, and was well known for his pictures and
writing in magazines such as  Maxim, AXL, American Health & Fitness, Flaunt,
Men's Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, Men's Health, FitnessRx for Men, Instinct
Magazine, and Men's Exercise, among others.

Having starred in the television series Work Out, he also did TV commercials
for Old Spice Body Wash, ESPN's Great Outdoor Games, Under Armour, MTV, Zoli
Sinks, Gold's Gym Power Flex, Bowflex and has lately taken acting roles. Images
of his body were used to create Dr. Manhatttan's muscular physique in the 2009
film Watchmen.  He has also appeared in many other movies and television shows
Greg's quotes are also well known, as he was quite able, when needed, to use
language well in order to motivate people.  Here are four:

"It’s called the pump people, you got to experience it, it’s one of the better
highs in life , you don’t need to shoot up for it ,you don’t need to snort it,
all you got to do is sweat for it."

"Sacrifice today for tomorrows betterment, you are willing to pay those
payments with pain, because pain is just a message when you are fixing
something that’s insufficient in your life."

"Whater the mind can concieve and believe, the mind can achieve"

"The difference of the differential between achieving success and the pain of
failure is the differential between the intestinal fortitude to get back up and
be a winner in life from going to work in the differential of success is life."

Joe Donnelly sadly reported on his  fitness site that this great fitness guru
and model Greg Plitt  had died on Saturday in Burbank.  Joe states "It is with
a heavy and tragically sad heart I inform you that Greg Plitt was killed today
by a train in Burbank."

He will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and fans.    From the
