Winter sports is very much on tap this weekend, withskating, luge, bobsled, 
skiing, all in international competition.  FigureSkating is being contested 
this Saturday in the Four Continents Championships pairs free competition 
inTaipei City, Chinese Taipei. Four Continents Championships men's free 
skatecompetition will also be held in Gangneung, South Korea. 
Alsoin South Korea, the Luge World Cup from Pyeongchang.  Pyeongchang hosts an 
International LugeFederation (FIL) World Cup for the first time this weekend, 
with the slidersset to take on the Alpensia Sliding Centre track, only the 
second officiallycertified track in Asia.  The  Luge World Cup on  Saturday 
includes final rounds of the men'sevent followed by the team relay event.   
World Cup competition is due to take placeover two days at the venue, which 
will host 7,000 spectators during next year’sOlympics.


In Germany, Bobsledding will be contest today at the IBSF WorldChampionships.  
The 2 man bobsleighcompetition will be held today, in  Königsseein Bavaria.  
 Inthe USA, in College Basketball:  the KansasJayhawks will travel to the 
Baylor Bears. These nationally-ranked teams met onFeb. 1, with the Jayhawks 
winning 73-68 in Lawrence, Kansas. Kansas has wonnine straight in the series.  
The ColoradoBuffaloes will meet the Oregon Ducks in Oregon. Colorado beat 
Oregon a fewweeks ago in Boulder.  Oregon had won 17straight before the loss.  
The Kentucky Wildcatswill travel to take on the Georgia Bulldogs. On January 
31st, the Bulldogspushed Kentucky to overtime before succumbing 90-81.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ramps up this weekendin Daytona Beach, Florida.  
The AdvanceAuto Parts Clash at Daytona gets the season started at Daytona 
InternationalSpeedway. The elite field for the 75-lap event includes last 
year's polesittersand playoff  drivers, plus former Daytona500 and Clash 
winners.
The National Basketball Association All Star Weekendwill include many events 
tonight from New Orleans.  Tonight's NBA Events in the buildup totomorrow's big 
game in New Orleans include the Slam Dunk Contest, Three-PointContest and 
Skills Challenge, won last year by Zach LaVine, Klay Thompson andKarl-Anthony 
Towns
