A special type of craziness is set to infest the USAon Sunday afternoon.
Breakouts havealready been seen in many cities.  Crowdsscream and yell like
fools because they have entered the bracketologyphase.  Certainly, boy, what
else?  NCAA March Madness begins.  Today. Many conference tournaments wrapped
up yesterday, and so their winnershave already been entered in the brackets.
Others will be determined today. The NCAA tournament Selection Show isone of
the most hotly-anticipated off-the-field events on the sports calendar.  They
have vowed, this year, to announce thechosen ones within a few minutes of the
show's opening, and not drag it out asthey have been known to do.  The luck
68teams, their rabid supporters, and the entire basketball fandom will
beenthralled for the next three weeks by brackets, squeaky shoes, and
swishinghoops.  Office pools will assaultAmerican workers as they eagerly
report for work on Monday morning.  Actual tournament play begins with the opt
ingames on Tuesday.
