there are two importantODI matches.  The first continues the SriLanka tour of
India at Dharamsala, it is the 1st ODI  of that Tour. Afghanistan and Ireland
are contending in their 3rd ODI of the Irelandtour of United Arab Emirates at
Sharjah.
Meanwhile, Indian Cricket phenom Virat Kohli is"resting" from the remainder of
the Sri Lanka Tour of India.   If youhaven't been living under a rock, you have
read the innumerable reports, nowconfirmed,  doing the rounds about ViratKohli
and Bollywood's gorgeous Anushka Sharma's big fat Italian Punjabi wedding,
inwhat is considered, in celebrity circles, as India's wedding of the year.
Thetwo have already flown off to Italy with their families. They're expected
totie the knot in the next few days, with a destination wedding in
romanticTuscany, and then move the party to Milan. They are expecting to have a
celebratory bash back in India on BoxingDay, the day before the December 27th
departure of the India team for theirTour of South Africa.

Meanwhile, the Heisman Trophy, was awarded in New York onSaturday night to a
player who started his Football career as a walk-on, beforetransferring to
Oklahoma.  Baker Mayfieldchanged that Saturday night.  He  captured the 83rd
Heisman in a landslidevictory.  The balloting was unexpectedlyone sided.
Mayfield collected 732first-place votes and 2,398 points in the voting totals.
Stanford running backBryce Love was second with 1,300 points (75 first-place
votes). Louisvillequarterback Lamar Jackson, last year's Heisman winner, was
third with 793 (47).  "This is unbelievable for me, being uphere among these
greats," Mayfield said upon receiving the award with pastHeisman winners
standing behind him. "It's something that words can't evendescribe. God has put
me in this position that I'm so blessed, and a lot oftimes I wonder why. But
it's such an honor to be up here. It'sunbelievable."
Meanwhile, inyesterday's contest, Army  beat Navy inthe last game of the
regular season.  Itwas difficult to see the game, at times, given the abundant
snow which fellduring the game in Philadelphia.

Real Madrid departed for the United Arab Emirates hosted ClubWorld Cup, to
defend their title.  Theyshowed they were ready for world class competition by
thrashing Sevilla 5-0 inWednesday's game, their last before departing Spain for
Cup play.
In England's Premier League, a local derbywill be celebrated, with the
challenging match between Manchester City and ManchesterUnited.  Both are the
best at what they do.The difference lies in the emphasis.  JoseMourinho argued
that David de Gea is the best in the world after he equaled aPremier League
record by making 14 saves in the 3-1 win at Arsenal last week. Unitedhave
conceded the fewest goals in the division and De Gea has the most cleansheets,
with a save completion rate of 86.1 per cent.  City’s Ederson, meanwhile, is
the best on theball. His 85.3 per cent pass completion rate shows his
upbringing as anoutfield player. “Modern football requires those skills because
it’s changed,”he said.

Southampton will play Arsenal later this afternoon tocomplete a day of exciting
soccer action. Recent games between these two sides on the south coast have
producedsome emphatic scorelines – Southampton won 4-0 on Boxing Day two years
ago tothrow Arsenal’s title challenge into disarray, but in two trips to St
Mary’s in2017, Arsenal have scored seven and conceded none. Mauricio Pellegrino
isexpected to stick with in-form striker Charlie Austin despite Shane
Longrecovering from a calf problem as he looks to improve that record.
ArsèneWenger will be without defender Shkodran Mustafi but Theo Walcott, who
scored ahat-trick against his former club in January’s FA Cup win, should be
availabledespite a tight calf. Arsenal is currently 6th in the standings,
Southamptontwelfth.
