Today, in Aussie Rules Footy, the Geelong Cats take on the Sydney Swansat the
GMHBA Stadium a.k.a. Kardinia Park, South Geelong, Victoria, their hometurf
since 1952.  After a stellar startto the season, Geelong midfielder Brandan
Parfitt is a late withdrawal fortoday's clash with Sydney at GMHBA Stadium.
Zach Guthrie comes into the line-up after he was dropped for last week'swin
over Port Adelaide.  The Swans wouldbe normally downcast at an away game, but
they are the only team to have astreak against the Cats, having beaten them in
their last two visits toKardinia.  The Swans will have plenty toprove after
last week's loss to an undermanned Adelaide at the Sydney CricketGround, and a
disappointing outing against Geelong in last year's finals series(where they
were thrashed by 59 points at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds).

Geelong's bevy of young stars shone at homelast time around against St Kilda
and will be out to impress against a strongSwans midfield group smarting from
last week's loss. Brandan Parfitt, SamMenegola, Tim Kelly and George
Horlin-Smith - all players with fewer than 50games experience – stood up in
last week's win on the road.        The Cats may be sixth on the ladder, and the
Swans 10th, but Sydney has won five of their last seven contests.  Should the
Cats win, it would be their firstconsecutive wins over Sydney in several years.

The Indian Premier League of Cricket continues to capture the interestof
hundreds of thousands of fans. Thisyear's IPL is also offering $8m in prize

Mumbai, incentive for players and teams alike.
Currently the Chennai Super Kings leadin the standings, followed by the
Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Kings XI Punjab, theKolkata Knight Riders, and the
Rajasthan Royals.  The next, and bottom three teams, are the    Royal
Challengers Bangalore, the DelhiDaredevils, and bringing up the rear,
surpisingly, the Mumbai Indians.  The defending champions have now lost five
oftheir first six games this season.  Meanwhile,Virat Kohli hit out at
'criminal' Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling, after theIPL game featured 33
sixes.  The gameraised comment after MS Dhoni, whom Kohli replaced  smashed
unbeaten 70 as Chennai chased down 206to defeat Bangalore with two balls to
spare.

Followersof this space will know that a special "water cooler" edition
wasreleased on Wednesday, in preparation for the NFL draft.  The draft
continues throughout the day onSaturday, one might say making sure the dregs
find a place too...  Unsurprisingly, Oklahoma standout quarterbackBaker
Mayfield was the Number 1 pick of the NFL draft as he goes to ClevelandBrowns,
whilst Running back Saquon Barkley was the second selection as he headsto New
York Giants.  The Browns owned thetop selection for the second successive
campaign, having been just the secondteam in NFL history to go 0-16 last season.

Unlike inprevious seasons, the identity of who would be the top pick had been
kept underwraps and the Browns opted for Mayfield, who won the 2017 Heisman
Trophy forbeing the best player in college football, and was the first of
fourquarterbacks taken in the top 10.  Mayfielddid not attend the draft, staged
at Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium, but wroteon Instagram: "CLEVELAND!! Let's do
this!! Excited to be apart of the@clevelandbrowns! @neweracap#neweracap #MMO".
The New York Giants selected Penn State's running back Saquon Barkleywith the
second selection, while the New York Jets, who had traded up to numberthree
last month, took USC quarterback Sam Darnold.
Cleveland picked again at four and chose cornerback Denzel Ward, thefirst
defensive player to come off the board, defensive end Bradley Chubbfollowed to
the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts claimed offensiveguard Quenton
Nelson.

Of the original 18 teams in the NBA Playoffs, six are still engaged in combatto
see which of them might move onto the semifinals.
