This weekend is the playoffweekend for the two conferences which make up the
National Football League inthe USA.  The top four teams from eachleague will
play this weekend, to eliminate two of them on each side, and the
remainingteams will play next weekend in the conference championships.  The
winners of those two games, two weeksdown the line, will meet in Super Bowl
LIV, which will be played in Miami onFebruary 2nd.

Today, the Minnesota Vikings travel to the SanFrancisco Giants in the first
game of the weekend.  Giants Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo hascertainly been
seeking wins, since he abandon the second chair at the NewEngland Patriots in
search of his own fame and fortune.  Even while serving as Tom Brady's errand
boyat the Patriots, for so many years, he had the reputation of being a
niceguy.   Vikings' QB Kirk Cousins is also a nice guy,in search of a win.
Both teams have been described as underdogs insearch of a win.

While not qualified tomake a judgement on that statement, it is certain that
Saturday's game will bea very physical game, with lots of heavy hitting.  Both
team excel at heavy hitting games.  The Vikings are 21-29 in 50 playoff games
intheir 59 seasons. They have won as underdogs seven times and lost as
favoriteseight times, including at Philadelphia when they were three-point
favorites inthe NFC Championship Game two years ago. Saturday will be the
Vikings’ 16th game as a road underdog of 6½ pointsor more. Sunday’s 26-20
overtime victory at New Orleans was their fourthvictory in 15 tries.

In today's secondgame, The Tennessee Titans travel to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Titans went into Foxborough and shockedthe Patriots to advance in the
wild-card round, and now they'll face an eventougher test if they want to reach
the AFC Championship Game: the BaltimoreRavens, owners of the best record in
football and a team that has been ajuggernaut for much of the season.
TheRavens are also good at controlling the clock, and are favored for a win.
