As a Sun external contributor, emails like this really piss me off
(funny how they always seem to come from the same people).

I have been involved with OpenSolaris for over three years now, and I
cannot *once* recall a time where I felt "shut" out or left in the
cold. Like everyone else, I dove into the documentation (of which
there is certainly no lack) and the mailing lists.

I have never had an issue finding (or working with) sponsors. These
engineers at Sun have never once ignored any comments I have made, and
to be completely honest, have been more than gracious in sharing their
knowledge and engineering experience. I for one, am flattered by the
amount of attention that is spent on the community as a whole.

All of the comments above apply directly to ON (specifically the
drivers, networking, and storage communities). I strongly believe you
get out what you put in - if you feel that it is enough to simply
ghost lists and run nightly(1) on occasion, you are going to be
disappointed. If you are not actively participating in *any* project,
why should anyone go out of their way to educate/inform you?

Regards,

Steven Stallion
