I don't know where this thread leads - while it might start
to eliminate the need for a heavyweight gate process, it is
more probable that it simply changes the role of gatekeeper
to include doing hg magic between source repos hosted
on os.o....
In support of refactoring:
For things like cat, ls, ..., there is no real reason to
continually recompile and redeliver them on a nightly or
even bi-weekly basis - they don't change that often. What
would happen if they were built and pushed into a repo only
when they changed?
Whatever the list of things to refactor is, I think it all
starts with the ABILITY to refactor combined with the WILL
to try. Start simple, prove that it can work, and then
let the carpet cleaners get to work :-)
