The UFS and SVM communities have no Core Contributors and therefore don't qualify as Community Groups under the OpenSolaris constitution, a state the OGB is clearing up.
There seems to be some interest in these technologies, but not enough to justify Community Group status. It seems that the best way forward would be to convert these old communities into projects, sponsored by the ON Community. This wouldn't really change much - both would keep their existing mailing lists, and would have their own web space. The URL would change, but it's going to do so anyway as part of the website transition, so this looks like a convenient time to make this change. So that's what the OGB would like to do, and we hope the ON Community will support us.
