If you build Quagga in SFW or if you would like to use bridging, read on. Otherwise, you may stop reading now.
With the the following putback: PSARC 2007/596 RBridges: Routing Bridges PSARC 2008/055 Solaris Bridging PSARC 2009/344 Bridging Updates 6223953 Solaris should provide layer 2 bridging 6770623 bogus error messages generated by dladm should be cleaned up the Solaris RBridges project has been integrated into ON. This component includes basic Ethernet bridging (with Rapid Spanning Tree), and is administered through dladm(1M). You can create bridge instances on Solaris, and link together Ethernet networks with this feature. For more information, see the updated dladm(1M) man page, PSARC 2008/055, and IEEE 802.1D. This component also includes the OS infrastructure necessary for TRILL. When the TRILL (RBridge) component is delivered to SFW in build 125, the ON portions will become necessary on the SFW build machines. They're not necessary at this time. Until the TRILL components are delivered to SFW, the ON portion will support only standard STP-based bridges. These are the default. RBridges Team (rbridges-dev at opensolaris.org)
