Guys,

I am playing with some machines which have 2 Intel X5650 (6 core,
hyperthreaded processors). I booted this under OSOL b137 (live CD)
and I only see 6 cores per socket. Why am I not seeing the
H/W threads?

# psrinfo -pv
The physical processor has 6 virtual processors (0-5)
x86 (GenuineIntel 206C2 family 6 model 44 step 2 clock 2667 MHz)
Intel(r) Xeon(r) CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz
The physical processor has 6 virtual processors (6-11)
x86 (GenuineIntel 206C2 family 6 model 44 step 2 clock 2667 MHz)
Intel(r) Xeon(r) CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz

For instance, my Core i7 desktop and X5500 series would show
something like
# psrinfo -pv
The physical processor has 4 cores and 8 virtual processors (0-7)
The core has 2 virtual processors (0 4)
The core has 2 virtual processors (1 5)
The core has 2 virtual processors (2 6)
The core has 2 virtual processors (3 7)
x86 (GenuineIntel 106A5 family 6 model 26 step 5 clock 2834 MHz)
Intel(r) Core(tm) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz

Is hyperthreading enabled in bios?
