Hi,
Could you please provide the mso-docker.json file you give in input (or at
least the sdnc part of it) or eventually the SDNC config file located in
/etc/mso/config.d/mso.sdnc.properties

Thanks,
Seb

Subject: RE: [onap-discuss] Query on creating a service instance for demo vFW

Svclogic.log with both a reserve and assign means SDNC is working.

Assign comes from MSO to SDNC VNF-TOPOLOGY-OPERATION call (svc-action=assign).

I can?t see why the later stage of VNF-TOPOLOGY-OPERATION (svc-action=activate)
would fail from MSO to SDNC with no error ? that usually means MSO isnt calling
sdnc or there is something else going on.

Here is a complete set from svc-logic.log for the vfw entire E2E test (delete
at the end).

A ?rollback? would occur after ?activte? if there was a problme in
Openstack/Rackspace.

Seems like you need to check the MSO log.

BTW ? if you turn on debug for sdnc you can see the sequence of nodes being
processed on vnf-topology-operation graph.

Just to clarify..The issue I resolved in my environment (and was responding
to) was specific to the sdnc dgbuilder container which didn?t have start.sh..it
was called start for some reason.

It is correctly defined in the appc?s docker-compose and it comes up without
any workarounds.
Kedar, give the appc?s dgbuilder a shot on port 3000 out of the box. I think
it will work for you.

Then there is something wrong with the install I suspect.

If you look at the docker-compose file it should be calling startODL.sh if the
correct image was pulled.

./installation/src/main/yaml/docker-compose.yml

I came across this too. There is no script called start.sh within the
container. I had to update the container run command to use just ?start?
instead and it came up using 1.0-staging-latest and the release1.0 gerrit
branch.
I think this is a bug because in the src code I do see a start.sh..

KeDar,

I think that is probably a symptom of some other problem. Dgbuilder is design
time only ? its not called during run time of the E2E tests.

I would log into the sdnc_controller_container and see if opendaylight is fully
configured , any error message in karaf.log etc.
If dgbuilder didn?t come up then very likely something was missing when the
SDNC heat template was fired and the full installation of ODL didn?t work
either (even if the container is up).

Did sdnc health check pass from robot framework ? usually if something has
failed the sliapi health check fails since that tests; sli, dblib and mysql
container.

Hi All,

The issue was with the OpenStack API key that MSO was referring to. As per new
Heat template, it needs /opt/config/api_key.txt in encrypted form.

After changing this api_key.txt file and after increasing VID to MSO polling
timeout, I am getting below error while creating VF module.

Good morning Kedar,

The team has identified the issue with the MSO docker container.
It is tracked under
https://jira.onap.org/browse/MSO-13<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__jira.onap.org_browse_MSO-2D13&d=DwMGaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=e3d1ehx3DI5AoMgDmi2Fzw&m=yW9EdOtz7OrxWNbYLgSPH90y0kbRofR_OArKmXS14L8&s=EcFmkmxIGGiBhaVdM6uJ3kafvtY6PldkJ9AiD-mI6v8&e=>
The change has been submitted and is currently under testing.
The new MSO docker image should be available later today if the Nexus is up
this morning

Hello Kedar,

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The MSO issue is NOT related to the DCAE instantiation time. The MSO problem
will be investigated by MSO team.

My note about the DCAE instantiation is a response to the previous email in
which I see that DCAE didn?t pass health check. There?s no additional work on
the user side to spin up the DCAE analytics environment. The DCAE VM will do it
automatically.

Note, however, that at this time, full DCAE deployment is supported in
Rackspace only. Work to fully instantiate DCAE in non-Rackspace environment is
ongoing. This explains why your DCAE platform is not fully deployed, in case
you are deploying ONAP in your own OpenStack environment.

Hope this clarifies.

Thanks,
Marco

Hi Marco,

I did not understand your reply well. Are you saying the MSO error I am getting
while adding VF module for firewall service is due to DCAE issue ?

Do we need to run any other script to spin up DCAE ? I see section # DCAE
Controller instantiation in the HEAT template and I also see one VM up for the
controller. How to spawn DCAE?s remaining VMs ? The health check for DCAE is
still failing on my instance.

KeDar

Hello Kedar,

DCAE spins up its own environment for data collection and analytics outside the
heat template. The DCAE controller creates a 3-VM CDAP cluster, 1 data
collector VM and 1 Postgres VM. This takes another 20-25 minutes after the ONAP
stack has been created.

Please allow extra time before DCAE responds correctly to the health check.

Thanks,
Marco

Hi All,

Ok, the below issue was due to name queries were not properly configured in
A&AI. After re-running A&AI initialization scripts, I could progress further.

Now, when I do ?Add a VF Module using the drop down button--Fill in information
for the VF module and confirm.?, I get error MSO failure (see log below for
details). I see this error in the response shown in the browser (complete
response and screenshot attached ).

"requestState": "FAILED",
"statusMessage": "Received vfModuleException from VnfAdapter:
category='INTERNAL' message='400 Bad Request: ' rolledBack='true'",

What could be issue here ?

I did a health check with ./ete.sh health and here are the failed entries. MSO
is ?PASS? in this check.

Hi Catherine,

Yes, Steve replied regarding why I got XML response back ( I so forgot that !).

My main question from original query is regarding VID not able to get the
service instance details from A&AI. I think while adding VNF, VID invokes the
same API which I could manually invoke.

Hi Catherine,

Thanks for reply.

I am yet to have Robot framework fully setup. But I had checked before that I
am able to invoke A&AI API manually.

Good afternoon Kedar,

Can you please check if the A&AI is healthy by running the health check?

Have you a VM where you have installed our Robot Frameworks?
If yes then on your vm1-robot, run
/opt/ete.sh health

Please share with us the results

Many thanks & regards
Catherine

Hi All,

I am following WIKI tutorial on setting up ONAP demo and currently stuck at
Tutorial: Creating a Service Instance from a Design
Model<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__wiki.onap.org_display_DW_Tutorial-253A-2BCreating-2Ba-2BService-2BInstance-2Bfrom-2Ba-2BDesign-2BModel&d=DwMFAg&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=66ObImPAUA0o2f1hTGknnnv5ScXvX8EnREJCPHHBY5M&m=_tQpPHqF4nYSOTnuuM8xX5mLzde-Fkfw-hvPKURgiwM&s=E6hufEYgKRcKJocv05e1OIPmSketQykf8Z46fOikJw8&e=>
 .

I can now deploy an instance of demoVFW. But later when I click on View/Edit to
Add VNF, I get below screen. The Add VNF button ( click on the dropdown
c321xxxxx) doesn't respond. Looks VID is not able to fetch service instance
information from A&AI.

I have attached screen shots.

Any help ?

KeDar
