Hi Marco,

We didn't restart the VM for troubleshooting.

The issue we faced was, sometimes all docker images were not downloaded so to
re-run the whole process cleanly we removed all downloaded docker images and
executed policy_install.sh as was done via HEAT template.

Running portal_install.sh should not be restricted only for the first time.
Anyone who executes this script will face similar issue.

So to avoid this some check can be placed in the script.

Your thoughts...

Thanks,

Arun

Hello Arun,

That instruction is in portal_install.sh, which runs only once when the VM is
created. If you reboot the VMs multiple times, only portal_vm_init.sh will run,
which is not supposed to update resolv.conf.

Thanks,
Marco

Hi All,

We have deployed ONAP on Vanilla OpenStack Mitaka (On top of CentOS 7). Using
the following YAML and env files:

When troubleshooting in Portal VM, we see that there were multiple nameserver
entries with same IP address (DNS VM) present in /etc/resolv.conf . This entry
is appended in /etc/resolv.conf on each execution of /opt/portal_install.sh
which contains the following code:

echo "nameserver "$DNS_IP_ADDR >> /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head

After executing the script 6-7 times the traffic to Internet timeouts due to
multiple nameserver entries for DNS VM. FYI, We verified recursion: yes in DNS
VM.

If this is an issue how can I contribute a patch for the fix.

Thanks & Regards,

Arun Arora
