SDNC team,

I’ve scheduled a breakout session today during the Developer event in Santa
Clara.

For those of you in Santa Clara, we’ll be in room 167. For those remote,
here’s the zoom meeting link :

What I’m planning to do at this session is go over the platform maturity (aka
non functional) requirements and functional requirements presented this morning
at the face to face, and discuss what we think we can reasonably fit. Of
course, I have no expectation that we’ll come to a final decision today , but I
wanted to at least start the dialog going.

FYI – I already started adding some user stories on the Jira for things that I
already knew we need to do in Beijing. One general area that we need to
address has to do with recoverability of data.

In Amsterdam, whenever we bring up a new version of SDNC (i.e. a new build of
the docker containers), it comes up empty. In other words, any test data
created before is lost. We need to address that, since clearly that’s not
acceptable in a production environment. Manual backup/restore is certainly
possible – we need to document those procedures for Amsterdam.

We also need to provide a migration strategy for Beijing so that a running
Amsterdam instance can be upgraded to Beijing with no loss of data.
