Fellow committers + PTL, I'd like to propose that the SO project make use of the mailing list as a standard practice and not as an afterthought. It seems to mostly be used by SO to announce, yet it can be a valuable tool for communication, development and community engagement. Based on the activity in the project there is obviously a lot of discussion and planning happening in siloed conversations, threads and interactions. It is standard open source practice to have these discussions in the open, on the list - so that decisions and directions are public and others not included in the silo have a voice in the conversation. Often this improves the decisions, designs and directions that the project takes. I'll be cognizant of this in the future and send mails to the list. I'm hopeful you will too.
Also, though I don't volunteer, I'd like to propose that SO weekly meetings take minutes. Minutes provide helpful history, context and prove valuable for team members who are absent and for community members who wish to know what is happening in a project. One easy way to take minutes would be to open a wiki page and jot down summaries of the things under discussion, upon meeting close, the wiki page could be saved. Thanks, Marcus Williams IRC, Twitter, etc. @ mgkwill Intel Corp. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
