Dear ONAP Modeling Subcommittee Members, I would like to formally self-nominate myself for consideration as a candidate for serving the ONAP community as the Chair of the ONAP Modeling Sub-Committee.
I feel that taking on a leadership role in our ONAP Modeling Sub-Committee will help promote ONAP collaboration in many areas including architecture, information modeling, data modeling, and API definition with a focus on driving towards the vision of a model driven ONAP supporting uses cases, and consistent API definition. I would like our Sub-committee to evolve in the following ways: • Better document and follow a consistent process for collaborative modeling with early and regular involvement of ONAP component stakeholders. • Seek earlier and more comprehensive community review, model approval and change control. • Collaborate better with the architecture team on model-driven software architecture evolution. In addition, I believe that our Sub-committee should work together with the broader set of industry SDO communities, including ETSI, TM Forum, MEF, ONF, and others. I have been involved with ONAP since its inception, and served as the Project Team Lead of ONAP’s External API Framework Project, and sub-lead of the VNF SDK Package Modeling team. Also, in MEF I currently serve as Co-Lead of MEF’s LSO Reference Architecture Phase 2 Project, and served as MEF’s Chief Architect for LSO, and was the main author of MEF 55 as well as many other MEF technical specifications. I am part of the Network Cloud and Infrastructure team at AT&T Labs where I am focused on end-to-end information integration for orchestration. Before joining AT&T Labs in 2016, I was with Applied Communication Sciences (formerly Telcordia / Bellcore) for nearly 30 years. I am also considered a leading expert and trusted adviser in service orchestration, network management, information modeling, and policy based management for connectivity data services and advanced technologies, including SDN and NFV. I hold a BS from Purdue University, as well as a MS and Ph.D. from Stevens Institute of Technology.
