George,
Hi, yes I have tried 18.02 – as I am keen to move my development vms where I
run k8s/oom and eclipse together from 16.04 – no luck- I have not tried rancher
2.1 yet - which may work.
Testing was started and stopped on a Saturday on 30th June
https://jira.onap.org/browse/LOG-526
   via the script in
https://git.onap.org/logging-analytics/tree/deploy/rancher/oom_rancher_setup.sh#n76

   Ran into and followed
https://forums.rancher.com/t/ubuntu-18-04-lts-no-compatible-docker-install/10481/4
As in the logs getting tons of
ARN[1684] Couldn't run auplink before unmount
/var/lib/docker/aufs/mnt/e6dda82ca59119a2b87ee2f5b9f1541293ee9029da665f5a1ef7e4d4dbdf6266-init:
exec: "auplink": executable file not found in $PATH

Rancher 1.6.18 currently only support Ubuntu 16.04 and their support for
kubernetes is still at docker 17.03 – however based on their move away from
cattle to full k8s support in 2.1 – docker support has improved
I did manage to get a cluster up but I had issues that sadly I only partly
documented this time – I’ll restart my saved image and check the VM

amdocs@amdocs:~$ kubectl get pods --all-namespaces

as in the screencap I had tiller working but had some issues on the
rancher_client container

We are currently in kubernetes 1.10.3 so it should work in rancher 2 which will
be at or further than 1.11 – but this is future

Subject: [onap-discuss] [OOM] Docker v17.03 isn't available in Ubuntu 18.04

I tried the OOM installation scripts at
https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submodules/oom.git/docs/oom_setup_kubernetes_rancher.html
in an Ubuntu 18.04 VM, and it failed when installing Docker. It appears that
the required version of Docker (17.0.3) isn't available in Ubuntu 18.04. Have
the OOM scripts been tested in Ubuntu 18.04? Is there a later version of
Docker that will work?

Thanks,
George
