Yes, I think being able to get "cousins of cousins" by traversing the relationship-list would be an interesting extension of the depth parameter. That kind of traversal is possible using the Gremlin queries (that's how the custom queries are written) and I hope it will be documented as a published REST API one day!

I thought depth could impact the output of objects that appear inside the relationship entries as well but it seems that is not the case.
