Tomas, You bring a really good point. The community has been engaged in tackling this problem in the context of the OOM and CIA projects.
For example, we have proposed the use of --and actually a significant number of projects have adopted-- a set of common base images: https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/ONAP+Normative+container+base+images We still have work to do. And folks like you are important a key part of the conversation. At the request of the community (PTLs, TSC), we are going to take the concept of simple adopting common images a step further and work on curating and managing their lifecycle. Managing the lifecycle will ensure the minimal possible set of images (e.g. reusability), stability and, when applicable, security.
