DG calls uses the same logic. The parent DG has the rpc name but typically not the version. If the version in the Call Node is blank, then SLI looks for Active DG for the rpc name ignoring the version. This is the usual configuration. Version is for our tracking and management and so we can do upgrades. The optional mechanism to specify a specific version is really for testing. Setting a version applies to the SLI Tester northbound API if you wanted to test a new parent DG without affecting current transactions.
