VNF-API, is something that is a bit of an older version, and still works for Alacarte.
GR API is its replacement or version 2. Macro/Alacarte is fully supported on GR API. You can use it just like you do VNF API Alacarte, or utilize the Macro features. It is really up to you. The API request to SO is the same for GR-API/VNF-API. I believe the preload to sdnc(if using preload) differs some. SO also has some rollback/retry mechanisms in GR-API that come pre-configured, you may wish to tweak these for your own use cases. Vnf-API had some very basic Macro functions, but is not a fully supported/fleshed out feature. It is mostly used as Alacarte. We have been focusing development on the GR-API path. I would not expect the VNF-API path to receive many new features.
