Hello All,
The TSC Election candidate thread and wiki page have both been locked. Ballots will be distributed to eligible community members within the next 24 hours. There are a couple of questions regarding the TSC elections that have come up, so I am hoping to address those here. TSC Composition: As everyone knows the TSC election process has been considerably delayed. For anyone familiar with the "Steady State" composition exercise, you are well aware of how difficult a task it was to get to the compromise set of membership criteria currently in place. I had been working on a set of recommendations for the TSC to consider prior to kicking off this year's elections which was the primary reason for the delay. After I went out on leave the decision was rightfully made to proceed with all of the existing provisions "as-is". Regardless of what you think about the TSC composition rules, they are NOT up for debate at this time. After the newly elected TSC has its footing, I will be sharing my recommendations on adjusting the composition for the 2020 election this time next year. Self-Nomination Phase: As published last year, (https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Annual+Community+Elections#AnnualCommunity Elections-TSCElections) the nomination phase is described as follows: * The nomination phase begins with the receipt of the announcement ( as verified by checking the appropriate list in <https://lists.onap.org/> groups.io ) * The nomination phase ends two (2) weeks s after the announcement in the same time zone the poll was initiated from I didn't catch it last week but the end-time in the actual email announcement was 3 calendar days short of the full 2 week self-nomination period. The full 2 week period concluded at 09:00 Pacific time this morning. The "Named-Nine" Reserved Operator Seats. (AT&T, Bell Canada, CMCC, China Telecom, Orange, Reliance Jio, Turk Telecom, Verizon and Vodafone) As per the Technical Community Document the compromise struck by the TSC approved granting the named operators above a reserved seat. There are specific provisions detailed in Section 4.2.3 <https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/ONAP+Technical+Community+Document#ONAPTech nicalCommunityDocument-4.2.3TSCMemberElections> that must be met however: * At least one person from the named operators MUST run in the election in order to be awarded their reserved seat. If no one from the company runs, that reserved seat will be left vacant. * A provisional entry is granted for a specifically named operator ONLY if they do not have any eligible Active Community Members (ACM) from their company at the time of nomination process. * A provisional candidate is not allowed to vote in the election since they do not meet the definition of an ACM Official List of Candidates Candidate wiki Page https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/2019+TSC+Election+Candidates Candidate email thread https://lists.onap.org/g/onap-tsc/message/5502 Candidate Company Status Seat Type Alexis de Talhouet Bell Canada ACM reserved Alla Goldner Amdocs ACM Andreas Geissler Deutsche Telekom ACM Bin Yang Windriver ACM Catherine Lefevre AT&T ACM reserved Ciaran Johnston Ericsson ACM Davide Cherubini Vodafone ACM reserved Eric Debeau Orange ACM reserved Jason Hunt IBM ACM Lingli Deng China Mobile ACM reserved Milind Jalwadi Tech Mahindra ACM Murat Turpcu Turk Telekom Provisional reserved Ning So Reliance Jio Provisional reserved Ranny Haiby Samsung ACM Seshu Kumar Huawei ACM Srini Addepalli Intel ACM Timo Perala Nokia ACM Viswa Kumar Skand Priya Verizon ACM reserved ZongHe Huang China Telecom ACM reserved Thanks! -kenny -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
