Aniello,
FWIW - I've been using a KUD that I installed in an OpenStack VM. I used it to
test vFW/Edgex with El Alto.

Here are the notes I took at the time I installed:

https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Kubernetes+Baremetal+deployment+setup+instructions

Works pretty well - just run steps as described above.

The VM (ubuntu-16-04 image) I created for this had these flavor details:

               $ openstack flavor show m2.xlarge

Subject: [onap-discuss] KUD for vFW/Edgex with Multicloud Kubernetes Plugin Use
Case - Clarifications

Hi Akhila,
I want to deploy the vFW/Edgex with Multicloud Kubernetes Plugin, so I am
following your guide at
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Deploying+vFw+and+EdgeXFoundry+Services+on+Kubernets+Cluster+with+ONAP<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Deploying+vFw+and+EdgeXFoundry+Services+on+Kubernets+Cluster+with+ONAP>
 .

My problem is about the KUD (Kubernetes Deployment) because I want to deploy it
on a VM on Openstack and not on baremetal server.
I have searched any scripts to do it, but at the moment there are only 3 kind
of script for a baremetal, vagrant and containerized modes.
So, I want set up the KUD on Openstack from myself.
What I have understood, to have a KUD enviroment working for this use case, we
need to :

  1. Install Kubernetes on a Single Node (kubeadm or via kubespray or
minikube?) ??
  2. Apply ovn4nfv plugin for kubernetes to manage custom private network
  3. Apply Multus plugin for kubenetes to manage multiple interface per pod
  4. Install Virtlet to allow vm on container
  5. Install NFD why?
  6. Install Istio why? service mesh? How it is used into this use case?

Is this installation procedure correct to set up the KUD for this use case?

Thanks a lot,
Aniello Paolo Malinconico
