I suppose you had to update the whole OOM + recurse submodules. This is because
1. Git stores a ref to a specific submodule commit, not to a moving tip of a branch. 2. OOM is up to date with AAI’s tip. Thus, updating your OOM recursively should update AAI to the correct committed ref as well.
