This is a call to action to breathe some life back into the lab subcommittee. As you are probably aware the ONAP Intel lab managed by Windriver will soon be shutdown. While Intel has graciously offered to provide the ONAP community with new hardware neither they nor Windriver will be providing any lab space, hosting or systems administration support for the new gear. LF-IT is actively looking for a colo facility where the hardware can be installed. A key challenge for ONAP is that the location must also provide the hands-on lab support that Windriver had previously provided. (That isn't typical of the services a colo would normally provide to a customer>) Assuming that finding such a facility does not prove to be price prohibitive, we still need members of the community to step up and provide the sys-admin support. In the past much of that work had fallen to the Integration project, not because it was their responsibility, but mainly because they were one of the primary users. Regardless of what happens we need to revitalize the subcommittee in order to keep the labs coordinated and ONAP moving forward. :-) Interested members of the community should join the onap-labs mailing list ( https://lists.onap.org/g/onap-labs).
