Hi All,

We've been using Rocket Chat in the Policy Framework since the start of the
Dublin development work and it has been a pretty seamless experience, it works
as well as any of the myriad chat applications.

For us, it has been very useful for communication between the developers in
Europe and North America because there is a few hours of a common time window
and dropping a message on Rocket Chat has been very useful to get issues sorted
quickly. We have some developers in China as well but messaging is not so
useful there for communication due to the lack of time zone overlap, nothing to
do with the messaging platform.

One other point would be perhaps to find a way of counting Rocket Chat
engagement by people so that it counts as credit to them when measuring
community engagement.

Best regards
Liam

Probably worth re-doing the survey since we have been using rocket-chat for
some time and there may be feedback on how its working/not working for folks.

We need to move the rocket-chat we have to a better supported environment.
Moving it to https://onap-integration.onap.org:443 in LF with SSL would be
perhaps the next step. We could do the setup/domain change with the current
server and if that works migrate the server to LF or simply bring up a new
instance in LF and let folks re-register on the new site.

We can not use the hosted version since its important that it be off onap.org
for the corporate firewalls. A non-descript hostname helps as well.

We did test ssl from APAC back in mid 2018 and it did work at that time.

Good morning Kenny,

Yes Slack is still in the 2019 Apps list blocked in China.

I remember that you created a wiki page to collect feedback.

There was also a Survey performed last year about IM Tools – Another choice was
HipChat (Atlassian IM).
Nevertheless HipChat moved to Slack.
