Hi Swami & Lin, Thank you for proposing this initiative. The TSC allowed use of proprietary software in the past as part of PoC (see section 3.b here - https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/POC+definition). Since the 5G network slicing is an official use case and not a PoC, could you please clarify:
* Could you confirm that the proprietary CU/DU will not be a mandatory part of ONAP integration, and any interested party could run the Guilin integration testing without the need for these components? * Alternatively, if other community members will be interested in using these components, could they be made available to additional labs, other than the ones you mentioned (under a proper non-commercial use license agreement)? From the overall use case and also ONAP perspective, we strongly believe that it would certainly add significant value to integrate with O-RAN components/simulators and show its working, and it will also help in the O-RAN alignment journey going forward. While they are checking reg. the feasibility and IPR aspects, we have taken an action to check with TSC reg. the feasibility and any process/IPR/legal obligations.
