[Winona Online Democracy]

Thanks, Ed, for such a terrific response to Lee's comment!

I think that if the new middle school can truly be a "Community Center" (in
the sense that the community will have access to and use of the building and
be able to reap a benefit from the tax increase) this might be a way to help
the "anti-tax mentality" mentioned.

program last night about Gaylord, MN where the school is open until 11 PM -
almost every night of the week. The public truly sees the school as a
gathering place for more than the classroom during the day. The computer
labs, the swimming pool, meeting rooms, etc are all part of what the
community used on a very regular basis. Is that in the plan here for the
new Middle School?

Lee and others,

No, but maybe there should be. If anyone out there who saw this program
can get me the specifics of who in Gaylord set up this program (since I'll
bet it didn't just happen) I will do the follow-up. I'm pretty sure I can
get the address of their Superintendent and will start those inquiries ASAP.

If it's called "tourist season", why can't we shoot them?
