        >Because you are a member of the Winona Online Democracy project,
we would
        >like to invite you to the important community event described
below.

        > "Character is not more on the plate, it is the plate."
        >
        >Do you remember the "good ole days" when no one locked their houses
or car
        >doors, when a person's word was as good as a signed contract, when
        >children could walk to school without their parents worrying if
they would
        >make it safely? To many people today, such concepts belong to a
bygone
        >era, but it does not have to be that way. Character makes a
difference.
        >
        >Please join the Winona Youth Task Force in a discussion about
character in
        >the Winona community. A discussion meeting and complimentary meal
will be
        >offered on Tuesday, October 24, 2000, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the
new
        >Winona Middle School, 1570 Homer Road. The Youth Task Force has
been
        >reviewing information related to Cities of Character and we would
like
        >input from you to determine if there is interest in having this
become a
        >reality for the Winona Community. We hope to have many sectors of
the
        >community represented: business, education, health and human
services,
        >elected officials, and interested community persons. Enclosed is
        >information about Cities of Character for your review. We hope
that you
        >or a representative from your organization will attend. Your input
is
        >important.
