[Winona Online Democracy] The City Clerk's office is looking for a few more people to serve as election judges for the General Election, November 7. Election Judge requirements: 1. Eligible to vote 2. Able to read, write and speak English 3. Attend a training class in Winona 4. Must reside in Winona County (preference is given to those who live in the City) 5. Must state which political party you are affiliated with. Election Judge responsibilities: 1. Arrive at the precinct at 6:00 a.m. and set up for the 7:00 a.m. opening of the polls 2. Register and sign in voters 3. Distribute and collect ballots 4. Help voters who require assistance 5. Process absentee ballots 6. Close polling place at 8:00 p.m. 7. Record and certify the vote totals 8. Deliver ballots to election officials Election Judge Pay: Election judges are paid by the City, and are also paid for the required training time.
