Thank you Lee for describing the effort that was
made some years ago to have not only Winona Co and Winona City and the school
district but also Goodview and Rollingstone representatives meet to discuss ways
of collaboration.
I attended the meetings for the school district for
a couple of years and then with new board chair etc I do not know what
happened to the dialogue. I know that there were some decisions made
that assisted one group or the other.
I was hopeful that purchasing supplies like paper,
janitorial supplies etc could be consolidated and take advantage of price breaks
for bulk buying. I don't think that effort got to far. Sharing some
major pieces of equipment did happen.
I too, wonder if any part of that group still meets
and perhaps be revived with the school district. We do have a lot of new
people in the schools district positions so they may not be aware of the
option. Perhaps it could have some new life again.
