It's been many years since I've lived in Winona, so
imagine my surprise to hear from Mr. Double that Lake Winona has moved
several blocks to the north! So much so that when he's heading west toward the
High School -- on Sarnia or Lake Street -- the cross streets (Sioux,
Dacotah, Olmstead, etc.) now aim northward toward the lake. Why, back in
my day (apparently several geologic eons ago), these streets dead-ended going
south toward the lake. I hate it when things change in my
hometown.
