Sarah and Karen,
Awhile back, Mr. Terry Selleck wrote a letter to the editor announcing the
formation of a grief support group in Winona.
Here is the information Mr. Selleck included in his letter:

"We have resources on beginning groups from a grief counseling center in
Omaha, Neb.
Our goal is to have this ready to start in May. These will not be therapy
groups, but rather therapeutic support groups.
The groups will take a commitment on your part. Beginning the first week of
May, the groups will meet once a week for six weeks. Following the initial
six-week start-up (completed by summer vacation), each group determines how
often they would like to meet. It will also take a commitment on our part.
We would like to have separate groups for children and adults. The
counseling center recommends that group size be limited, as well as closing
the group to new members, once it has begun. Meeting time is approximately
1 to 1 1/2 hours. If you're a parent with other children you would like
involved, both groups would meet on the same night.
Again, this is an open invitation. If you are interested, please send us a

call 457-0998. We would like to know your name, address, phone number, as
well as the day and time of week that work best for you."

Another option would be contacting Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center
(454-4341) to inquire about any programs they might have.
I'd like to add, as an aside, that I'm quite impressed by your emails and
you're interest in current affairs. It's nice to see young people being so
active. Keep it up!
