We do not believe that sick leave is a gift, extra holiday nor should it be
a benefit. We do believe that people need to be able to take off work when
they or someone in their family is sick or for that matter needs to do
something that "can not" be handled beyond their normal work schedule. We
expect people to put in "annually" not less than the hours their position
requires exclusive of earned vacations and approved national holidays.
When anyone takes time off they are required to make up the hours taken in
that or another week. When the hours are paid back in any week but the
week in which the time was taken they are paid at time and one half since
they should have worked not less than 40 hour in the week of the pay back.
This provides them flexibility and meets our needs to have their time doing
what only "they" can do best and it applies to all positions from the top
down.
