Of course we work for the same entity, but I am in full agreement. When Bob
Welch hired me 7 years ago (has it been that long) I recall him going
through the benefit package. He very carefully went through each item and
then paused at "sick leave" saying to me, "Sick leave is not something to be
abused. Sick leave is designed to accrue and be used when you really need
it." It stuck with me and I've used the same words in managing of my own
staff. In the days of baby boomers being faced with children and parents to
support, those sick days are crucial. In looking over my staff's sick time
accrual, I can clearly see none of us are abusing the sick time. We're
saving for the unknown rainy day, let's hope we don't need it. Malia
