[Winona Online Democracy] I was thrilled to read of the improvement in writing skills for Minnesota as well as Winona. If you had seen my Opinion Page letter, I was rather critical of the writing in the emails I receive to my web site. http://www.luminet.net/~bkuhl/Dart.htm. The chances that any of those emails are from Minnesota is rather slim, in fact I know one was from California. It has also been brought to my attention that kids often think it is cute to write like they are stupid to be funny. The danger with that is it could be a permanent habit. Here are some examples I have received: Hello, I am (name). I am in TSA and i am in a rubberband powered competition called flight endurance. I am in high school and would like to learn more about rubberband powered airplanes. Before I was in this i began flying the gaslione powered airplanes. I really like both but the rubberband powered is more a challenge and at a recent compition i did the best ever in our school history but i did not win. I flew a right flyer a kit plane. After seeing the other kids the one that won was his own design. I was wondering where i could get some plans on the internet? Thank you for your time, Hi all The big day is almost here. only two more weeks till he SO competition in Sacramento, this will be my 2an and last SO competition EVER!. My model is doing pretty good, i get flights of 1:30 to 2:10 in a 25 foot gym. How ever I think I can do better than that (hope atlist).
