I too must offer my rebuttal to David Dittman's remarks.  I find it a stretch to conclude that school discipline and violence problems are related to the methods of teaching.  There simply is no evidence presented and there are too many complex factors at work to make such a simplistic argument.  And let me add my unsolicited advice as well -- an angry tone simply puts people off and gets in the way of the message you may want to convey.  Blow off steam if it makes you feel good, but don't expect that others are going to get on board with you.  More than likely they will want to distance themselves.

I very much appreciate the thoughtful, patient comments of Judge Peterson on this issue and others.  Thank you for sharing your insights and experience with us.
