[Winona Online Democracy]

Hello Paul and Winona Online Democracy,

In regards to the pollution that candles emit and campfire permits....

If pollution was a consideration in energy policy and it was charged at
it's true cost (instead of unaccounted for externalities), we wouldn't have
those ungodly casks of poison sitting on Praire Island that no one knows
what to do with for thousands of years. Further more, private coporations
that have made millions off of nuclear energy would not be allowed to pass
on the responsibility and costs of those nuclear waste casks to the
government.

:-<

I can't believe how spineless most mass media is when it comes to the
energy issues in our country. They do almost no real research, ask no
tough questions, and show no original or critical thinking skills.
Instead, they just blindly mimic what the heads of the largest energy
corporations (from both Democratic and Republican) administrations tell
them.

It's sad (but not surprising) what most people do not know about
California's energy problems. Saying that people only know half the truth
is being too optimistic.

I think it would be interesting to create a community forum around this
topic if others were interested.
