I will attempt to keep to this short as there are entire books written on this subject. One very small thing that I find annoying is the continual usage of the phrase "Education System." Educating a student is not like assembling a car or a traveling somewhere using a given set of steps. Referring to education in this manner implies uniformity, and a one size fits all mantra. Almost everyone will agree that people develop/progress at their own rates*. Why then do we continually use this phrase? I could be wrong, but education reform starts by using titles which actually fit what we are trying to accomplish. *I find it interesting how many state this while at same time argue against abolishing the current system of First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade and so on. (Once we have titles which fit, the next big hurtle will be the realization that students should be grouped by ability rather than age.) -------------------------------------------------------------- Dan Dittmann: [EMAIL PROTECTED] How often do you say to yourself, "I didn't do it; so of course, it didn't get done?" --------------- This message was posted to Winona Online Democracy Please visit http://onlinedemocracy.winona.org to subscribe or unsubscribe All messages sent to the list must be signed with your actual name.
