I'm sure that this has been studied but I can't help but ask,..... Why don't we build power plants next to the source of the coal and transmit the electricity rather than the coal? It seems that we're trying to move the Mountain to Mohammed. Is it really cheaper (considering all factors) to transport the coal? How much cheaper?
