Title: Product / Marketing Coordinator, NSPs/Journals Location: NYC, NY Length: 3 Months++
1. Position Summary What is the main purpose of this position? Why does it exist? (e.g., to administer client database; to create marketing strategies; to provide administrative support to department of 6 people, etc.) The Product Coordinator represents all aspects of the assigned products within the Federal product line, with particular emphasis on certain RIA and PPC Print non-subscription products. The position involves monitoring all phases of the product management process including Marketing, Customer and Sales Support, and Development. 2. Principal Accountabilities What are the major responsibilities of this position? List the what, how and why of each responsibility and provide examples, as necessary. Use specific verbs of action, such as “designs”, “develops”, “controls” , “files”, “manages”, “operates”, analyzes”, etc. Indicate % of time spent on each. a. Marketing •Review and help prepare advertising & promotion materials including sales collateral, direct mail pieces, advertisements, etc. •Assist in promotions/new product launches •Review product packaging/distribution •Develop annual product plan for assigned products •Develop/suggest pricing/packaging strategies for assigned products. •Prepare competitive comparisons working with Editorial department b. Sales •Attend trade shows that showcase the product line •Monitor sales and assist team when needed •Secure/manage third party distribution agreements for assigned products (e.g associations) •Assist field and inside sales teams in closing large accounts where possible •Assist with product knowledge training for sales team •Develop retention strategies for assigned products •Monitor inventory at mail houses •Manage Custom & Imprint covers for bulk orders of selected titles from artwork through delivery c. Support •Review customer requests for enhancements •Make direct follow-up calls to users for certain escalated issues •Assist in training support staff on the product family •Work with Manufacturing and Fulfillment to set annual print runs. Assist Editorial in approving covers/print content of print products. •Coordinate with printer(s) on print runs, ship dates, etc 20% d. Development •Develop proposals for enhancements to existing products and new product initiatives. •Prepare and manage new product launches/enhancements to existing products 5.
