*JOB SUMMARY: * *Design and develop new database systems, working closely with a team of software engineers. Provide support, optimizations, and automation for series of external data feeds.* * * *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* * **1. Provide strong technical leadership and expertise in database design, implementation and maintenance phases.* *2. Plan and execute database modifications.* *3. Create and manage DTS/SSIS packages, triggers, and stored procedures, views, SQL transactions.* *4. Database monitoring and tuning.* *5. Perform other tasks as assigned consistent with this level of responsibility.* *6. Develop new and provide support for existing secure data feeds with external parties.* * * *GENERAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* * **1. 8+ years experience designing and implementing database systems, including 4+ years experience designing and implementing SQL Server database systems.* *2. Expert with stored procedures, triggers, T-SQL scripts, and performance issues with client/server database design.* *3. Experience in database monitoring and tuning, including SQL Profiler, Windows System monitor, indexing strategies and query/index tuning* *4. Experience with high-volume databases, index management, physical database design, and server configuration settings.* *5. Expert in relational data modeling principles and techniques.* *6. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.* *7. Experience with large mission-critical application databases.* * * *COMMUNICATION SKILLS:* * **1. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, peers, and management through written and verbal communication. * *2. Ability to communicate with customers, internal departments, and other outside parties in a professional manner.* *3. Effectively communicate with developers and quality assurance staff in the resolution of technical problems* * * *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* * **1. Eight plus years related experience.* *2. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field.* * * *SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:* * **1.
