*4. Extensive experience with Unix Shell Scriptiong*
DB Performance Tuning / DB Performance Analysis
Operate in a Performance Testing Environment.
Experience using Grid Control monitoring tools.
*Description:*
1. Our client in RI is seeking an Oracle DBA for an immediate position.
2. The ideal candidate will function as a Senior Oracle DBA,
participating in the design and implementation of databases and
systems that
can support the ongoing company growth.
3. Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for
ensuring the availability, security and integrity of the Oracle
databases.
4. Assist in developing and administering backup and recovery
procedures.
5. Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
*Deliverables: criteria/results by which success can be measured:*
1. *Mentor other DBAs in* connection with their skill development
objectives.
2. Providing Production support of large, 7x24 Oracle database
supporting an active online applications, with rotating on-call
duties after
hours.
3. Troubleshooting Production problems and working effectively with
other team members to identify and address problems.
4. Scripting for database monitoring and to automate routine tasks.
5. Performing data analysis to provide management with timely and
accurate information.
6. Performing data management tasks as required loading, editing,
restoring and removing data at the requests of our clients.
7. Researching, testing and coordinating Oracle patches/upgrades.
8. Tuning of SQL code and assisting developers in writing and tuning
SQL queries.
9. Testing of new features or 3rd party tools.
10. Interacting with Oracle support to resolve issues.
11. Logical and physical database design.
12. Expert of Oracle 10g.
13. Expert UNIX - AIX, Solaris, Linux
14. Expert with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Oracle Clusterware.
15. Expert knowledge of RMAN backups.
16. Expert UNIX shells - Korn shell, bash, perl.
17. Experience using Grid Control monitoring tools.
