Performance Engineer- Network Technician CERRITOS, CA 3 months Contract Rate: DOE Required skills and abilities: * Ericsson 800/3820 RNC ops & perf * IuR, IuCS, IuPS link operation and theory * RNC KPIs & counters * RNC Golden Parameter * UMTS/Wireless Network Theory & Operation * RNC call model flow, measurement and analysis * RNC performance mngment: flow control, load contro * ATM/IP dimensionsing for capacity and metrics * 5 years in wireless telecommunications * Fluency in UMTS, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, TCP/IP, ATM Description: Requirements: * Proven expertise with Ericsson UMTS RNCs is required along with a thorough understanding of the architecture and engineering. * At least 5 years in wireless telecommunications, preferably with a wireless service provider or vendor. * At least 3 years in an engineering role. National network performance experience is highly desirable. * Proven knowledge of engineering principles and wireless telecommunication systems for both voice and data. * Fluency in UMTS, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, TCP/IP, ATM, and VoIP technologies is required. * Proven track record in the ability to research, compiles, and analyzes data required for network performance reporting. * Must demonstrate strong organizational, communication (both written and oral), and interpersonal skills. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills required * Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time * Expert in Microsoft applications and highly proficient in other engineering applications * Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline. * Demonstrates good knowledge of T1/DS1, T3/DS3, OC-n, SONET, DWDM, VoIP, call routing, SS7 Signaling. * Understanding wireless network call processing, from handset access to core, is highly critical.
